Follow Up To Sell More in MLM

MLM No Comments »

The success and failure of your sales depend on your follow up. You should follow up your prospect, new customers and associates after they had introduced your product line.

Some sales person does not understand the importance of following up your prospect. This is part of why a sales person has a high rate of failure on their selling career. Statistics shows that most of the sales from the 5th up to the 12th contact make it successfully. Study the statistics below, these figures are from the National Sales Executive Association.

*2% of your sales came from the 1st contact
*3% of your sales came from the 2nd contact
*5% of your sales came from the 3rd contact
*10% of your sales came from the 4th contact
*80% of your sales came from the 5th-12th contact

Multi-level marketing sales people are actually selling themselves and the product of their company. The word “Sales” should not bring shame, sales people need to convince their prospect buyer that they need your product, your company and your services. In MLM business you are only successful if you are selling.

Now that you have learned that the success of your sales will come from your follow up, you should go out there and start to do some follow up. Go out and be a good salesman, read about how successful people in the field of selling do it. Starts training your self help your potential buyer understand your product and follow up.

Following up your prospect this will help them remember your product more often. This is the technique of some other consumable products like Coca-Cola, McDonalds and Pepsi. You can hear their commercial a dozen times on television and radio. You can read their ads on billboards, newspapers and in magazines.

This company pays million of dollars for advertising, for one simple reason to keep their product on the mind of the consumer. Now, this is the reason why you should follow up your prospects. To keep them reminded of your product. You should be persistent and determined to increase your sales.

Aside from consistent follow up, you can give out extra flyers and sending information for your prospects. But, there is nothing more important than calling your prospect personally. On the phone you don’t have to be good at talking. And don’t sell anything, just converse with your prospect, know their concerns, be honest and polite. If you don’t know what they are asking tell them that you’ll get back to them. Don’t give them false answers as this will give you bad feedback.

You can also use technology to do the follow up for you. With the help of the autoresponse you can send your prospect information about the product via email.

And finally, you should have a good message for your good product with good prices. No matter how good a sales person you are if your product is not of high quality you can never reach your goal of selling them. A good product should help you boost your sales first and foremost.

Tips on how to create a healthy downline in your MLM

MLM No Comments »

In order to get the full potential of your profits and investment in multi level marketing, you have to get your downlines properly.

A healthy downline will not only benefit you but also your marketing team and eventually the whole company as well. Remember that when you are involved in multi level marketing, team work is still the key for more and higher profits.

Here are some tips to create a strong downline and ensure that your direct sales will grow everyday.

1. Build a personal relationship with your downlines. Your downlines want to know better who they work for so it is better that they know you not just by your name but it is better that they know something about you like how you started in marketing, what are your experiences in sales and how they can also get numerous sales like you do.

2. Always find ways to communicate to your downlines. Set a regular meeting for your downlines, this will let you see the progress that they are doing and also a chance to give encouragement to those that are lagging in sales.

You can use email, chat, news letters or form groups online such as yahoo groups, to which you can post your informative articles, new guidelines or simply praise them for a job well done.

3. Give incentives. You can give incentives to those marketers that have gotten the highest number of recruits. You can also give freebies or discount coupons to the new recruits. This might be small token but it will give your downlines and new recruits some boost to work to their best ability.

4. Write marketing articles or free ezines. Marketing articles provides a good chance for web site traffic. You can write a few articles and then put a link to the site that shows the products you are selling then submit them to sites that offer free articles directories.

5.  Educate your networking team. Marketing sales evolve from season to season and though your products are not seasonal, it is still a good way to inform your networking team on how they can better boost their sales as business climates change.

6. Learn to advertise. Advertisement is a key for the success of your networking team.

Help them to create fliers, calling cards, and brochures. These informative materials will attract other people that are also looking for new business opportunities.

7. Never Stop. Ask your downlines to be enthusiastic and inspired even if they received rejection from other people. A successful multi marketing investment lies on the determination and courage of its marketers.

Questions that you have to consider about MLM

MLM No Comments »

Anyone considering a career on any MLM company or networking companies out there must first ask this six very important questions to themselves to be able to determine whether the networking company is worth your time and your investment.

Who is your “sponsor”?  It must be a person that are willing to take you to the top and will not just abandon you after recruiting you to the organization. You must know your sponsor and if you can trust that person and if they are willing to tell you how much they are making from the networking company.

You must also know about the founders of the company and how succesful they have been over the past years. Investigate the whole “structure” before plunging in to the business. You have also to check out the product. Make sure that it would sell well in the commercial supermarkets and the traditional channels of marketing and distribution. It must be also unique that it would have not many competitors. You have to personally believe in the capability of the product so you must really see if it works so that you could sell it without any hesitation.

When will your investment will return? If it will be a couple of years then do not bother. You should be able to get your miney back within just a few weeks if it is really in demand. Is the company making any efforts to promote and advertise the product. Is there any restrictions on how you can promote the product to the public. You have also to think about on how you are recruited from the beginning. Is there a mention of any bigger opportunities to earn or what was the promise made to you by the recruiter?

The right way to build a downline is to sign-up interested members first and if they like it, they can be convince to be sales representatives for the products. If you are being press on to a sales representative right off the bat then you should be wary of that company.

You have also to analyze what you are doing. Do you really want this job? If you are only doing it because you need the money, then you might as well forget it. You have to really believe in the product that you are selling to be successful on what you are doing. To capped it up, you must always make an informed decision regarding this matter so that you would not end up wasting your time and your money to nonsense MLM’s. You will be more secure and safe if you will first check out what you are getting in to.

There are no absolute right and wrong answers to these questions. The point is to make sure that you’re going into it with your eyes wide open. Many have earned great profit getting into consumer direct marketing, network marketing, and MLM but many people aren’t as lucky and end up wasting a whole lot of time and losing money chasing a pipe dream. You can ensure your success best by being sure you’re getting into the right opportunity in the first place.

Making money from MLM plans

MLM No Comments »

Each Multi-Level Marketing venture differs form one another. Each MLM business has different compensation plans as well. A regular MLM business pays the distributors’ commission by the number of sales they’ve made. The distributors will have a discount from the price list of the goods they will be selling.

The second way the distributor can be paid is by the recruits they will enlist for their MLM. Each recruit will give the recruiter commissions. Every MLM has different set of rules to how many people the recruiter can recruit. These recruits are also called downline.

The top-level distributor is responsible for giving training and support for their downline that are starting their business. Aside from the commissions the top-level can make through their recruit he is selling the products as well.

Not all businessmen from the top-level of the MLM are selling the product. Most of them are focused on recruiting people. These new recruited people are obliged to buy the sample kit from the company and to recruit again more people.

Distributor from Watkins, Steve Bretzke, says that few distributors from MLM promise people that they will earn thousands of money in just a month’s time. Bretzke said, “Many people join before they have any idea what they have to do to succeed. Therefore, you see many dropouts.”

Some failed distributors realize that MLM ventures have cost them a lot before they drop out. Some people spend money on the sample products, transportation costs, meeting fees, promotional materials like tapes and catalogs and then drop when they realize work is needed.

However, not all MLM business collapse. Some earn money at this business especially those at the top-level. The unfortunate ones are the lower distributors who fail to recruit.

Richard Suter, made a research on MLM operations said that the distributors should have a long view of the business and should have the money to back up their business. The distributor should also have good background in sales to deal with selling products.

A compensation plan is the method of how the distributor is paid. Usually the MLM Company will set the volume the distributors need to sell before they are given their payment. Common names for compensation plans are unilevel, stair-step breakaway and matrix.

For the record all people involved in the MLM business will agree that their compensation plan is the best. Some MLMs offers higher percentage and giving their distributors bonuses for doing personal sales or group sales. Some MLMs will pay the recruiter with deeper levels and so on.

No matter what type of compensation plan you are in the best thing to remember is that you should make money to earn more money. A good product is the best key to sell more and to boost the compensation plan. And don’t forget to recruit downlines!

Reasons why people fail in Multi Level Marketing [MLM]

MLM No Comments »

Multi-Level Marketing is a way of earning profits with a minimum of investment. A great many people who join in Multi-Level Marketing can attest that their lives have changed and improved after joining networking firms.

But no matter how many people have had success in Multi-Level Marketing, there are people that have failed in networking and blamed their failure on the company they joined. But why do some fail while so many have been successful? Maybe the reason for failing does not lie in the hands of the networking firms so much as in the hands of the distributor themselves.

Here are some reasons why some members/distributors may not succeed in networking.

1. Being too lazy:

Lazy people seldom earn profits in whatever business or financial endeavor they set themselves in. How can you earn money if you have no drive to sell your products? Are you are waiting for your customers to come knocking at your door?

Multi-Level Marketing is hard work and, like other business, it requires your effort, and drive, to sell your products and recruit new down lines.

2. Selling products to “cold leads”:

This is another mistake failing distributors make - trying to sell their products to “cold leads”. Cold leads are people who do not even show the slightest interest in your products.  The best way to earn profits, especially when you are just new in this industry, is  concentrating on seeking out “warm leads”, or to those that show interest in the products. Learn to recognize the difference.

It’s possible warm leads can influence cold leads by word-of-mouth in the future, when they can finally see the value of your products - just don’t spend too much time on dead-ends yourself.

3. Unwillingness to spend money on training:

No one is born knowing all the strategy of their business. Even highly successful businesses provide training to their employees. If you are a new member/distributor, you must educate yourself in effective ways of marketing your products and recruiting down lines. You can acquaint yourself by reading books, audio tapes or video tapes by those people who have already excelled in the industry.

4. Does not follow up to prospects:

You need to offer first-rate customer service. You can’t expect, in this field of endeavor, potential customers to come to you and inquire about your products. You need to make your offer to them, and back it up 100%. Be humble and professional in following up with your prospects, and be there to answer their questions.

Legitimate MLM! or a Pyramid scheme?

MLM No Comments »

Do you want to be a distributor for a Multi-level marketing business? Do you want to earn extra money or establish your own business? MLM is a retailing business that the role of the distributors is to sell their product.

The MLM Company will motivate you to establish and to operate your own sales business. You will recruit, motivate, supply and train your downline. Downline is the name of the person or group of people that you have recruited. You will receive compensation from the sales that are made by your downline.

MLM is not the “getting rich easily” type of business. Before a distributor can become successful they must research and develop their business and downlines at the same time. This is hard work and can be a full-time jobw.

However, no matter how good MLM is, you still have to watch out for pyramid schemes. This type of MLM focuses on quick profits only by recruiting more and more people. More often than not the products they are selling are completely ignored. Pyramiding scheme’s plan is usually tempting and sometimes you may want to get involved.

To prevent yourself from getting fooled by pyramiding schemes follow these guidelines before investing.

1. If the start-up cost is substantial for the investment you should be distrustful. MLM, those that are legitimate, usually ask a small amount for a start-up cost. Pyramid schemes will force you to pay to be a distributor.

2. Know if your target company is willing to buy back the inventory, if not you must be extra careful. You could face a problem with unsold products. It is in accordance with the law that companie should offer to buy back the inventory at least 80 or 90 percent of what the distributor had paid.

3. Research the consumer market for the products that you will be selling. Don’t stick with companies that earn by recruiting people only rather than from selling products. Always bear in mind that MLM depends on good quality products not simply recruiting downlines.

Have a checklist before you invest in a company. Here are the things that should be included on your checklist:

1. Gather all the information you can about the parent company. The products, officers, compensation plan and all other facts should be on your list. Know the start-up cost and company’s policy in buy-back inventory.

2. Acquire written copies of the marketing plan of the company, literature and sales.

3. Talk to people who have been with the company. Know their experiences and about their products.

4. Check the name of the company in your local Better Business Bureau or from the State attorney to prove the legality of the company.

Always keep your guard up before venturing into a business. Know the company and make sure it is legal.

Pros and Cons of joining an Multi level marketing Company (MLM)

MLM No Comments »

Multi Level Marketing or also popularly known as Network Marketing has been in the market since the last part of the century but even now people are not fully educated with the pros and cons of these firms. Let’s fix that now with a few facts and some information.

Multi Level Marketing is a good way to have a profitable full time business with very little or no investment. And for those people who work in regular jobs, Multi Level Marketing plans are also a good way to have a second income.

And would you be surprised that most of the members and operators of these multi level marketing ventures are professionals who want to increase their incomes through side work and have regular jobs.

Another positive side of joining network firms is that it is highly expandable as most mother companies can also supply products to other countries especially through the use of the Internet.

The good side is that you are home based and as a member, you don’t need an office to oversee your down lines.

Joining Multi Level Marketing firm is easy. Do some research first to find a reputable and accredited network marketing firm that you can join. It is better to join in a firm that your friends or family have already joined rather than a new firm that you don’t know anything about.

When you finally become a member, your primary task is to sell the goods or services that your ‘mother company’ sells or produce. Most of the products can not be bought in the open market as only your mother company is the sole distributor or producer of the products that you have to sell.

Aside from selling, another major responsibility for you is to recruit new members to be part of your down lines. This is where the real profit is and considerable time should be spent developing this.

You will receive commissions for every member that you introduced and as added bonus, you will earn a percentage income in the sales made by those people that you had introduced.

But like any other work or investment, this still requires time and effort. You still have to make sure that your down lines are also actively doing their work.

As any other business, it also has the cons, and the first thing that you have to be cautious is that most of the multi level marketing firms do not allow their members to be part of other network competitors and if you are caught, you could automatically loose your investment and all your hard work.

Another downside is that your investment is relying heavily on the success of the products of your mother company as well as how your down lines work to recruit new members.

Those good at selling and have good communication skills will not find it hard to be part of multi level marketing firms but for those who are shy and timid, selling the products and recruiting new members may be a tough job.

Things to consider in MLM

Multi level marketing is a lucrative business today as it offers opportunities and self sufficiency for a moderately and affordable small investment. The services or products are usually the latest and most innovative health products that are not available anywhere else.

Multi level marketing plans are a way to sell these goods and services through distributorship. The key being a multitude of customers on a broad base while funneling profits through a tier of distributors.

The multi level marketing firms guarantees that the person who will be a distributor will be entitled to receive commissions on the services and products which they have sold.

And to increase the sales of the distributor, they should recruit other people to be part of his down line.

Being a distributor is as easy as counting one, two and three.

As a distributor, you are not required to have a depth analysis of the product. It is just enough that you can be able to discuss the basic description of the products or services.

Nowadays, most of the distributors have interest in the product through gatherings of friends or through business opportunity adds in print media. While the majority of the distributors became members in order to get their purchases of the products with huge discounts as this is one of the benefits of distributorship. As a distributor, you are entitled to buy the products with discounts that are only available to members.

But before you join the multi level marketing firms, here are some things that you should consider:

As a prospective distributor, study the product or services that you will offer to other people. Are they marketable? If you are not a distributor, will you avail the product as a consumer? If yes, then it may mean that you believe in the product and believing in what you are selling is a big factor as your clients will take notice if you are just selling it because of a commission rather than believing in the product itself.

Take a close look at the multi level marketing company. Are they legal and have proper registration papers? It is hard to be a member of a company that you don’t know anything about. Research the company and product thoroughly.

As a prospective distributor, analyze how you will fare up in selling your products or services. It is a common exercise that distributor’s first customers are family members or friends. Are the products affordable enough? Is it really worth an investment? Selling to friends and family is a tricky business and one should ensure that what you are selling is actually needed.

And if you finally decide to join the multi level marketing bandwagon, be ready to take the risk of loosing a part your money as any investment entails risk. But the reward is potentially there with hard work and due diligence.

Why women are successful at Multi level Marketing (MLM)

MLM No Comments »

Women have been known as effective Multi Level Marketing agents as they traditionally use their strengths of advancing social and good communication skills.

The current trend of relationship marketing puts a new label on the marketing tools that women are using to be successful in the multi level marketing industry.

Many people involved in multi level marketing firms believe that it is all just selling a product but the women involved in this industry have found a differnt strategy in order to be successful.

One of these important strategies that women use is their good communication skills to develop sharing and long term relationships towards their clients, down lines and possible new recruits.

The recruitment process may not be easy but women have been found to be successful in this process and they do this by listening to the stories of their new prospects, asking questions, sharing information, finding exactly the needs of the prospective recruit and helping them to get it.

If you want to win the trust and attention of clients and prospects, the bottom line is be a sincere communicator in which all women traditionally are very good at doing.

Relationship marketing approached by women are sometimes deemed as time consuming and somewhat irrelevant for others but with proper timing, these approaches are effective and provide better results.

Build a Relationship

Successful multi level marketing women cultivate relationships. The basic tool in harnessing relationships is proper communication skills.

First, they tell their own experiences regarding the company, the products and the benefits of either the product or joining the networking.

And they don’t just end it there, they make sure to have a follow up of their clients and new prospects and ask them about how they like the products themselves or what will be the possibility that they will actually join the networking.

Another method female marketers use is to make sure that they know their clients not only by their first names, rather they know something about their families, jobs, leisure activities and their money.

Women ask about information regarding their families’ clients and new recruits. It is better to know if they use the products or if they use the competitor’s product. Inquire not just about their address, but it is better to know if the house is owned, rented or mortgaged. Learn also what are the future plans and immediate needs. With this kind of information, the multi level marketing woman knows exactly how she will interject her proposals and sales.

Put the Focus on the Needs of the Prospects

Women focus not just on their products sales but they bend towards the needs of the clients. They don’t decide for the new prospects instead she guides them to make a positive decision without looking as meddling.

Get Contacts Through Different Networks

As women are good communicators, they use this skill to get clients and new possible recruits through different networks such as business organizations, health clubs, social community groups, and even in their gym classes. Word of mouth is still the best way to sell the products and find new recruits.

But do all women succeed in multi level marketing? The answer is no, of course there are many that do not succeed. Remember too, that these techniques are generally used by women but they can also be effectively used by male marketers.
